Janet Echelman's sculpture, "Her Secret is Patience", found in the middle of the Civic Space Park, in downtown Phoenix, and its netted and funnel-like form are used to guide the design of the building. Focusing on these forms, the architectural and interior elements express the play of textured metal, and vibrant colors of the sculpture. The metal and colors are further integrated into the interior details of furniture upholsteries and wall coverings. In order to establish a modern space symbolizing this art sculpture; strong, straight, and rectangular shapes are used to define the dominant exterior architecture, and interior forms susch as the reception desk, stairs, and built-in furniture.
